Keinen anderen Anzug fühlt sich so exquisit an wie dieses Meisterwerk der Textilverarbeitung. Gerne möchte ich euch die Entstehung meines neuen Lieblingsanzug näher bringen.

The Show Room in Geneva

Inmitten der lebhaften Stadt Genf verbirgt sich eine Oase der Männdermode. Diskret in einem Innenhof befindet sich das Atelier von Luca, dem Mann hinter Dalbiondo Tailoring. Lucas freundliche Art lies mich sofort wie zuhause fühlen und ich wusste genau, dass ich bezüglich meinem Massanzug beim richtigen Mann gelandet bin. Nach einer kurzen Kennenlernphase kann es los gehen mit dem ersten Schritt in Richtung Massanzug: dem Stoff.

In the middle of the lively city of Geneva hides an oasis of men’s fashion. Discreetly located in a courtyard is the studio of Luca – the man behind Dalbiondo Tailoring. Luca’s friendly manner made me feel at home immediately and I knew straight away that I had found the right man for my tailor-made suit. After a short period of getting to know each other, the first step towards a bespoke suit can begin – the fabric.

Wenn ihr jetzt denk den Namen eures Kindes auszusuchen war eine Challenge, dann habt ihr noch nie Lucas Angebot an Stoffen gesehen. Egal was, Luca hats. Von bunten Leinen Stoffen, über ausgefallene Muster bis hin zu klassischen business Stoffe in den unterschiedlichsten Materialzusammensetzung. Luca’s Passion für Perfektion wiederspieglet sich in seinem Angebot. Für die Herstellung der Anzüge greift er ausschliesslich auf exklusive und qualitative Stoffe zurück. Über die Jahre hat sich Luca exzellente Kontakte zu Hersteller aufgebaut. Kein Wunder also findet man in seiner Stoffkollektion berühmte Name wie Loro Piana oder Holland & Sherry.

If you now think choosing your child’s name was a challenge, you have never seen Luca’s range of fabrics. From colourful linen fabrics to fancy patterns to classic business textiles in a variety of material compositions. No matter what, Luca’s got it. His passion for perfection is reflected in his offer. For the production of the suits he solely uses exclusive and qualitative fabrics. Over the years Luca has established excellent contacts to manufacturers. No wonder that his fabric collection includes famous names like Loro Piana or Holland & Sherry.

Die Auswahl von nur einem Stoff war für mich eine enorme Herausforderung. Am liebsten hätte ich den Dalbiondo Show Room mit 10 neuen Anzügen wieder verlassen. Mit Hilfe von Lucas professioneller Beratung konnte die Auswahl auf 5 Stoffe reduziert werden. Nach weiteren 20 Minuten Kopfzerbrechen entschied ich mich schlussentlich für einen weissen Stoff mit etwas dickeren Nadelstreifen. Die Farbe des Stoffs kombiniert mit der Zusammensetzung aus Seide und Leinen machen dies die perfekte Wahl für den Sommer.

The selection of only one fabric was an enormous challenge for me. I would have loved to leave Dalbiondo’s Show Room with 10 new suits. With the help of Luca’s professional advice, the selection could be reduced to 5 fabrics. After another 20 minutes of headaches, I finally decided to go for white fabric with slightly thicker pinstripes. The colour of the fabric combined with the composition of silk and linen make this the perfect choice for the summer.

Customizing Options

Kaum waren die Ordner mit den Stoff Beispielen weggeräum, brachte Luca auch schon die nächsten Ordner auf den Tisch. Jetzt geht es ums Customizing. Auch hier bietet Dalbiondo Tailoring alle erdenklichen Möglichkeiten. Zusammen mit der professionellen Unterstützung von Luca verpassen wir meinem Anzug den letzten Schliff. Dies beinhaltet die Auswahl der Knöpfe, des Innenfutters oder stylistische Details wie die Art des Reverts. Das Beste an der Sache: Extras kosten nicht extra. Ob hier eine Tasche mehr oder dort ein paar Knöpfe mehr, der Preis bleibt gleich.

As soon as the folders with the fabric samples were cleared away, Luca brought the next folders on the table. Now it’s all about customizing. Here, Dalbiondo Tailoring offers all imaginable possibilities. Together with the professional support of Luca, we put the finishing touches on my suit. This includes, among others, the choice of buttons, the lining or stylistic details like the type of lapel. The best thing about it: Extras don’t cost extra. Whether one more pocket here or a few more buttons there, the price remains the same.

The Measurements

Nach meiner harten Arbeit habe ich mir nun etwas Ruhe verdient und der Meister kommt zum Zug. Genau, es geht ums Vermessen. Lucas geschultes Auge wird nun sicherstellen, dass meinen Massanzug wie angegossen auf meinen Körper passen wird. Dabei beachtet Luca auch anatomische Details wie zum Beispiel minim unterschiedliche Beinlänge.

After my hard work I have now earned some rest and the master is getting his turn. Exactly, it’s all about measuring. Luca’s trained eye will now ensure that my tailor-made suit will fit my body like a glove. Luca will also pay attention to anatomical details such as minimally different leg lengths.

Nachdem sämtliche Masse protokoliert wurden, verabschiede ich mich von Luca. Nun heisst es warten bis das gute Stück fertig ist.

After all the measurements have been recorded, I say goodbye to Luca. Now we’ll have to wait until the masterpiece is ready.

The Fitting

Keine fünf Wochen später erreicht mich die Mitteilung, dass mein Anzug bereit zur Anprobe in ist. Ich kann es kaum erwarten in meinen neuen Anzug zu schlüpfen und nehme den frühstmöglichen Termin wahr.

Während meinem ersten Aufenhalt bei Dalbiondo Tailoring hatte ich bereits eine konkrete Vorstellung wie meinen Anzug aussehen wird, doch der Anblick im Spiegel überwältigte mich. Der edle Zweiteiler ist einfach perfekt. Der Schnitt, die Passform, die Erscheinung, alles in Harmonie.

Less than five weeks later I receive the message that my suit is ready for fitting. I can hardly wait to slip into my new suit and take the earliest possible appointment.

During my first stay at Dalbiondo Tailoring, I already had a concrete idea of how my suit would look like, but the sight in the mirror overwhelmed me. The noble two-piece suit is simply perfect. The cut, the fit, the appearance, everything in harmony.
