Es war liebe auf den ersten Blick. Ein klassisches britisches Backsteinhaus am Rande von Chelsea, 3 Gehminuten vom U-Bahnhof Sloane Square entfernt. So schön das Draycott Hotel von aussen aussehen mag, von innen bietet es noch viel mehr. Das Boutique Hotel war unser neues zuhause für die nächsten 3 Tage.
It was love at first sight. A classic British brick house on the edge of Chelsea, 3 minutes› walk from Sloane Square Tube Station. As beautiful as the Draycott Hotel may look from the outside, it offers much more from the inside. The boutique hotel was our new home for the next 3 days.
The Hotel
Das typisch britische rote Backsteingebaude wurde 1890 erbaut und wurde liebevoll restauriert ohne dass der Judendstil und Charme von damals verloren ging. Das Draycott Hotel ist zweifellos eines der besten 5-Sterne Hotels in Chelsea und ganz London. Ebenso das Personal. Stets sehr höflich und äusserst zuvorkommend. Jederzeit bereit den Wunsch der Gäste von ihren Lippen zu lesen.
The typically British red brick building was constructed in 1890 and has been lovingly restored without losing the style and charm of yesteryear. The Draycott Hotel is undoubtedly one of the best 5-star hotels in Chelsea and London. Likewise the staff. Always very polite and extremely courteous. Always ready to read the guests› wishes from their lips.
The Rooms
Das Draycott hat es geschafft Jungendstil und Komfort in perfekten Einklang zu bringen und das in 35 einzigartigen luxuriösen Suiten und Zimmern. Eine dieser individuellen Suiten darf ich euch nun vorstellen. Es handelt sich dabei um die Ashcroft Suit. Benannt nach der britischen Schauspielerin Peggy Ashcroft.
The Draycott has managed to bring art nouveau and comfort into perfect harmony – and this in 35 unique luxury suites and rooms. I now have the honor to further introduce you one of these suites. This would be the Ashcroft Suite. Named after British actress Peggy Ashcroft.
The Ashcroft Suite
Vor dem Schlafraum erstreckt sich ein kleiner Flur mit Ankleideraum und Badezimmer. Beides mit viel liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Der Spiegel an der Wand des Ankleidebereiches eignet sich perfekt um noch einen letzten Blick auf sein Outfit zu werfen, bevor man das Haus verlässt.
In front of the bedroom is a small hallway with access to the dressing room and bathroom. Both furnished with great attention to detail. The mirror on the wall of the dressing area is perfect to take a last look at your outfit before leaving the house.
Die Hauptattraktion ist jedoch nach wie vor das Schlafzimmer. Sogleich beim Eintreten sticht das imposante Himmelbett einem direkt ins Auge. Es sieht nicht nur himmlisch aus, es lässt sich auch wie auf Wolke Sieben darauf schlafen. Für eine angenehme und warme Stimmung im Raum sorgt der gasbetriebene offene Kamin, welcher sich bequem per Knopfdruck ein und ausschalten lässt
The main attraction, however, is still the bedroom. Immediately upon entering the impressive four-poster bed stands directly in the eye. Not only does it look heavenly, you also sleep like you would on cloud nine. A pleasant and warm atmosphere in the room is ensured by the gas-powered fireplace, which can be easily switched on and off by simply pressing a button.
Ein weiteres Highlight der Suite war der Balkon mit Ausblick in den wundervollen Garten des Hauses.
Another highlight of the suite was the balcony overlooking the wonderful garden of the house.
Library and Drawing Room
Zu den zusätzlichen Räumlichkeiten des Hotels gehören die eigene Bibliothek, sowie der Drawing Room. Für beides gehört es sich ein grosses Lob an den Innenarchitekten auszusprechen. Man tritt ein und fühlt sich sofort in der Zeit zurück versetzt in der Haut eins englischen Lord.
Im Drawing Room bekommt man täglich die Annehmlichkeiten des Hauses zu spüren. Ab 16 Uhr gibt es Tee und hausgemachte Biskuits und ab 18 Uhr wird Champagner serviert
The hotel also has got its own library, as well as the Drawing Room. For both rooms the interior designers should be praised. You enter and feel instantly relegated back in time in the skin of an English Lord.
Every day in the drawing room you will get the amenities of the house. After 4pm you are invited to tea and homemade biscuits and at 6pm champagne is served
Over all
Alles in allem hatte ich einen unvergesslichen Trip nach London. Ich hätte mir keine bessere Unterkunft vorstellen können. Das Hotel hat gänzlich meine Erwartungen übertroffen. Zentrale Lage, hervorragender Service und zeitlosen Charme. Was will man mehr? Ich kann euch daher das Draycott Hotel nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen und ich freue mich schon auf meinem nächsten London Trip eine andere Suite zu beziehen und mich aufs neue Überraschen zu lassen.
All in all, I had an unforgettable trip to London. I could not have imagined better accommodation. The hotel has exceeded my expectations. Central location, excellent service and timeless charm. What more do you want? So I highly recommend the Draycott Hotel and I look forward to be hosted in another suite on my next trip to London and let myself be surprised again.
