In diesem Blogpost möchte ich euch nochmals die Highlights meines Trips in der englischen Metropole zusammenfassen. Falls ihr also einen Trip nach London plant, findet ihr hier alle meine Empfehlungen für eine kulinarische und spannende Reise in die Hauptstadt von Grossbritannien. Auch die Sozial Media affinen unter euch sollen nicht zu kurz kommen, daher verrate ich euch auch meine liebsten Photospots in der City.
In this blog post I would like to summarize again the highlights of my trip in the English metropolis. So if you are planning a trip to London, here are all my recommendations for a culinary and exciting trip to the capital of the UK. The social media affine among you should not be neglected. Thus, I’ll tell you my favorite photo spots in the city.
Where to stay?
Ein gut gelegenes Hotel ist für mich der wichtigste Punkt bei einem Kurzaufenthalt in London. Schliesslich möchte ich nicht die meiste meiner sonst schon viel zu kurzer Zeit in öffentlichen Transportmitteln verbringen. Des weiteren lege ich viel Wert auf eine idyllische Umgebung. Über die Jahre fand ich immer mehr gefallen am Stadtteil Chelsea und seinen typisch englischen Backsteingebäuden. Trotz der Nähe zu sämtlichen Attraktivität empfinde ich den Stadtteil eher ruhig und gemütlich. Die perfekte Ortschaft um innert Minuten der Grossstadthektik zu entfliehen. Denjenigen, die ich an dieser Stelle bereits überzeugen konnte ein Hotel in Chelsea auszusuchen, kann ich liebevoll eingerichtete Draycott Hotel wärmstes empfehlen. For me, a well located hotel is the most important point for a short stay in London. After all, I do not want to spend most of my rare time in public transport. Furthermore, I attach great importance to an idyllic environment. Over the years, I got more and more drawn towards the Chelsea district and its typical English brick buildings. Despite the proximity to several attractions I feel the district rather quiet and comfortable. The perfect place to escape within minutes of the big city life. For those of you who I have already convinced to choose a hotel in Chelsea, I can warmly recommend the lovingly furnished Draycott Hotel. Notting Hill
Gleich angrenzend an Chelsea befindet sich der Stadtteil Notting Hill, bekannt für seine weisse Häuserpracht, welche nur dazu einladen einige stilvolle Outfit Bilder zu schiessen. Ob mit digitaler oder analoger Spiegelreflexkamera, spielt hier keine Rolle. Einzigartige Bilder werden so oder so entstehen. Mit etwas Glück treffen Autoliebhaber hin und da auch mal ein exotisches Modell.
Immediately adjacent to Chelsea there is the Notting Hill district located, known for its white houses of splendour, which only invites to shoot some stylish outfit pictures infront of. Whether with digital or analog SLR, does not matter here. Unique pictures will be created either way. With a little luck, car enthusiasts will occasionally meet an exotic model.

Tower Bridge and London Eye
Man wäre kein echter Tourist wenn man bei einem Städtetrip nach London ohne ein Bild vom Big Ben nach Hause käme. Dies hatte ich ebenfalls vor. Musste jedoch leider feststellen, dass sich der Big Ben momentan in Restaurationen befindet. Also musste eine andere Sehenswürdigkeit hinhalten. Unweit entfernt von U-Bahnhof Westmister befindet sich glücklicherweise das London Eye. Wem dies zu wenig imposant ist, empfehle ich einen Abstecher zur Tower Bridge. Die massive Bauart des Monuments entfaltet sich machtvoll auf jedem Foto.
You would not be a real tourist if you came to London on a city trip and return back home without a single picture of the Big Ben. I had this plan too. Unfortunately, I had to realize that the Big Ben is currently in restorations. So I had to spot another place of interest. Fortunately, not far from Westmister tube station there is the London Eye. If this is not enough impressive, I recommend a short trip to Tower Bridge. The massive design of the monument unfolds powerfully on every photo.
China Town
Wem es jetzt alles zu britisch wird, empfehle ich einen Abstecher nach China Town. Inmitten der englischen Metropole befindet sich einen kleinen aber feinen Fleck Asien. Vor allem Kulinarik Liebhaber kommen in China Town zum vollen Genuss. Auch ich liebe Vielfalt der Küche in diesem Viertel. Doch die grosse Auswahl hat auch ihre Tücken. Von aussen lässt sich oft schlecht beurteilen wie das Essen schmeckt. Über die Jahre habe ich in Soho bereits in vielen schlechten als auch ausgezeichneten Restaurants gespeist. Letztere möchte ich euch gerne weiterempfehlen.Wer sich zur vietnamesischer Küche hingezogen fühlt, dem empfehle ich das Restaurant Viet Food. Warteschlangen vor dem Lokal sind abends keine Seltenheit. Ich empfehle daher vorgängig einen Tisch zu reservieren.
Weiter kann ich für Hummer Liebhaber das Burger & Lobster empfehlen. Auch hier empfiehlt es sich vorab eine Reservierung zu platzieren.
Für den kleinen Hunger oder um die Lust auf was Süsses danach zu stillen, geht meine Empfehlung an Bubblewrap. Ein Eishersteller aus Waffelteig. Das etwas ausgefallene Eiscreme sieht nicht nur super auf Bilder vor dem chinesischen Torbogen aus, sondern schmeckt auch so.
If you have enough of the british way, I recommend spending a visit to China Town. In the middle of the English metropolis is a small but beautiful spot of Asia. Especially culinary lovers come in China Town to full enjoyment. I also love the variety of cuisines in this neighborhood. But the large selection also has its pitfalls. From the outside it is often difficult to judge how the food will taste. Over the years, I have already dined in Soho in many bad and excellent restaurants. The latters I would like to recommend you some. If you are attracted to the Vietnamese cuisine, I recommend the restaurant Viet Food. Queing in front of the restaurant is a common thing in the evening. I therefore recommend to book a table in advance.
Next I can recommend Burger & Lobster for all the lobster lovers among you. Again, it is advisable to place a reservation in advance.
For a small appetite or to satisfy the desire for something sweet, my recommendation goes to Bubblewrap. An ice cream made of waffle dough. The somewhat unusual ice cream not only looks great on pictures in front of the Chinese arch, it also tastes great.
Peggy Porschen Cakes
Jene welche das Bubblewrap Ice Cream zu wenig süss finden, sind bei Peggy Porschen Cakes genau an der richtigen Adresse. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail werden in der Backstube eine vielzahl an Cupcakes und Torten gebacken. Geniessen lassen sich die Leckereien bei schönem Wetter am besten draussen unter den Blumen Girlanden. Dazu noch einen leckeren Kaffee oder Tea und das leckere Frühstück oder der schnelle Snack ist perfekt.

With great attention to detail, a variety of cupcakes and pies are crafted in the bakery. In good weather, the treats are best enjoyed outside under the flower garlands.
