Die Autoindustrie befindet sich momentan mitten in einer Revolution. Sämtliche Automarken liefern sich einen Wettlauf gegen die Zeit, wer zuerst das beste, schnellste und serientaugliche Fahrzeug ausliefern kann. Doch muss es immer ein Auto sein? Wie wäre es mit einem batteriebetriebenem Fahrrad? Klingt doch umwerfend, oder? Genau das ist der Motorman von MEIJS.
The auto industry is currently in the middle of a revolution. All car makers competing in a race against time. Who can deliver the best, fastest and series productable vehicle first? But does it always have to be a car? How about a battery powered bike? Sounds stunning, right? That’s exactly what the Motorman from MEIJS is.
Wenn es etwas gibt, was ich überhaupt nicht ausstehen kann, dann ist es schweissgebadet in meinem Anzug zu stecken. Dies ist sogleich auch der Hauptgrund, weshalb ich nicht mit dem Fahrrad zur Arbeit pendle. Denn sobald ich ein bisschen in die Pedalen trete, kommt mir das Schwitzen. Beim Motorman hat man dieses Problem nicht, denn Pedalen existieren keine an dem Motorman. Angetrieben wird es komplett elektrisch und das über eine Strecke von bis zu 65 km. Was meiner Meinung nach eine ordentliche Distanz für eine Radtour ist. Unterwegs ist man auf dem Motorman mit bis zu 45 km/h und lässt somit herkömmliche Fahrradfahrer locker hinter sich.
Nebst technischen Aspekten überzeugt der handgefertigte Holländer vorallem auch im Design. Das rockige auftreten erinnert mich stark an einen Cafe Racer – modifizierte, englische Motorräder der 60er. Besonders charakterstark finde ich die grosse runde Lampe, welche die Front ziert, sowohl auch die aus echtem Leder gefertigten Griffe und der Sitz.

In addition to technical aspects, the handmade Dutchman convinces above all in design. The rocky appearance reminds me strongly of a Cafe Racer – modified, English motorcycles of the 60s. I particularly like the large round lamp that adorns the front, as well as the handles and the seat made of genuine leather.
Der Motorman von MEIJS ist ein echter Hingucker, welcher Fahrspass auf eine nachhaltige Art und Weise verspricht. Eine echte Alternative zu herkömmlichen E-Bikes uns Fahrräder. Ich könnte mir keine bessere Art vorstellen, wie man komfortabler und mit mehr Stiel dem Stossverkehr entfliehen könnte.
The Motorman by MEIJS is a real eye-catcher, which promises driving pleasure in a sustainable way. A real alternative to conventional e-bikes and bicycles. I could not imagine a more comfortable and styleish way to escape from the rush hour’s traffic.
